Dr. Georgios Gardikis Short CV

Dr. Georgios Gardikis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2000 and his PhD from the same Institute in 2004. His expertise lies in the field of broadband wireless networking and multimedia delivery systems, specialising in quality-of-experience assessment and broadband IP communications over digital interactive broadcasting platforms.

Since 2004, he has been collaborating with the National Center of Scientific Research “Demokritos” and the Centre for Technological research of Crete in the frame of national and EU-funded R&D projects, among which is the IST-2004-FP6-027457 “IMOSAN”, where he was the technical coordinator. He has also collaborated with the University of the Aegean, conducting a national research project regarding experimental DVB-H deployment, and with the Ministry of Transport and Communications as consultant on digital broadcasting issues.

At present, he is Associate Researcher in Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications in the NCSR “Demokritos” and Visiting Assistant Professor at Dept. of Applied Informatics and Multimedia, at TEI of Crete. He is Member of the IEEE/Communications and Broadcast Technology Societies, Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001, and reviewer in selected international scientific journals. He has more than 40 publications in international journals and refereed conferences/workshops.
