Katia Sarsempagieva Short CV

Katia Sarsempagieva was born in the Russian Federation in 1985. She received her undergraduate degree from the “Digital Systems” Department of the “University of Piraeus” at 2008, with a specialization in Networks and Telecommunications. Her studies were completed with a Diploma Thesis in the field of the Terminal Management in High Speed B3G Networks Environments.

After her BCs degree, she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in the same University and Department, minoring in Network-Centric Systems. In her Master’s Dissertation, titled “Research and Development of Core Networks Resource Management Algorithms in Future Internet Environments”, she designed and developed a Traffic and Resource Distribution algorithm (TiReD) for MPLS networks, which takes into account all the requirements of the MPLS-TE and distributes in an off-line mode the sets of flows within a network in such a way as to achieve both the balanced routing and the flow maximization.

She has been employed in SmartWare S.A. as a Software Engineer from 2009 to 2012 and was responsible for designing and implementing numerous systems mainly in the telecommunicational field. At present, she holds the position of a Research Assistant in the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications in the NCSR “Demokritos”, proudly conducting research and development for the “Media Networks” laboratory.
